The surgeons of Cheltenham Colorectal Group are committed to ensuring that all patients can acces Private Surgical care with the minimum of fuss and difficulty. There are two main ways for patients to be seen privately.

SELF PAY and FIXED PRICE DEALS - Patients without private medical insurance can be seen and undergo any investigation or treatment available to insured patients. Each episode of care (for example the initial consultation, a day case investigation or an in-patient operation) is treated as a separate event and fees charged separately for each; patients do not have to continue with private care beyond the consultation or invesigations if they do not wish to and patients can be referred for further care under the NHS at any time. For day patient and in-patient investigations and treatment, FIXED PRICE DEALS are often possible which guarantee against unexpected events or prolonged stays in hopsital. Please use the links at the bottom to download details of the SELF PAY & FPD arrangements and the basis of FEES.

PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE - There are a range of Private Medical Insurers and Providential Associations (such as BUPA and WPA) who support clients or members with cover for re-imbursement of their private medical expenses. In most circumstances the surgeons of Cheltenham Colorectal Group are recognised by the major insurers and associations and the fee scale is tailored to try to ensure that patient's medical fee expenses are covered by their insurance policies. Most fees are based on the current published scale of fees recommended by the Western Provident Association (WPA) or BUPA. Details of individual fee schedules are given below and in the downloadable FEES leaflet.

The invoice of any policy excess will be made to you personally when we have been informed of this by the insurance company.
